Amelia Carol  Hall (Powell)
Amelia Carol Powell Hall, 83, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at her home. Amelia taught piano lessons to adults and children throughout the city and truly enjoyed the recitals where her mentoring was expertly demonstrated. She was born in Louisville January 31,1933. Amelia attended St. Matthews Baptist Church and was a member of the Widows of Middletown Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Donnie “Joe” Hall, and her parents, Adelbert and Grace Powell. Survivors include daughters Donna Hall Carr (Ron) and Janis Hall Bockelman (William); sister, Frances Yates; grandchildren, Chris Howard, Andrea Hendrix, Lindsay Angelo, Shawn Bockelman and Julie Mortenson; 14 great-grandchildren, Champ, Daisi, Alex, Aiden, A.J., Seth, Bailey, Izac, Carrson, Camden, Addison, Presley, Rex and Shayla. Her special and loving friend, Bill Kennedy also survives. A service celebrating Amelia’s life will be held 1:30 pm Wednesday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Road. Visitation will be from 10:00 Wednesday at the funeral home until service time.
