Obituary for Nelson "Buddy" Turner

Nelson "Buddy"  Turner
Nelson “Buddy” Turner, 84, of Louisville, Ky., husband of Patricia Lee Steiner, died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Hosparus Care Center in Louisville. He was born in Boston, MA. November 16, 1933 the son of the late Nelson C. & Martha Kaupp Turner. Buddy had been in management and sales with A.B. Dick Printers and Ben Franklin Smith Printers. He was a member of Gate of Temple Masonic Lodge in Boston and a Father Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. Buddy was also a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951-53 at which time he served on the USS Cogswell DD-651 and the Shenandoah AD-26.
Besides his loving wife of 24 years he leaves to cherish his memory, children, Carolyn Turner Lee (Robert), April Abele Buchanan (David), Jennifer Abele Sprague (Eric) and Steven Turner (Elizabeth), grandchildren, Michael, David, Kevin & Steven Borst, Katelyn, Samantha & LaurenTurner. A.J. Gathright and Nathan, Bradley & Matthew Sprague, great grandchildren, Aiden Colligan, Ayla, Jack & Emmett Borst & Aubrey Gibson, also all the Sundry Animals.
Buddy will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. And a great role model for all that knew him. He was definitely “A Hard Act To Follow”
A service celebrating Buddy’s life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd. Louisville, Ky. 40241. Deacon Betty H. Smith will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will start at 10:00 am at the funeral home on service day.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials in Buddy’s name to any charitable programs of the Hudson, New Hampshire Police or Fire Departments or Louisville Metro Police Department.
