Obituary for Fred M. Oldson

Fredrick M. Oldson, 85, husband of the late Judith Reddington Oldson, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Baptist Health LaGrange. He was born in Bourbon County, Ky. June 11, 1933 the son of the late Orvel & Nellie Kincaid Oldson. Fred at one time had been a diesel mechanic and retired from the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex after 30+ years. He was also a Korean War Veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange.
He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Becky Barnett (Bernard), Velinda Donayel (Kenny), Debbie Wisdom (Marlon), Sandra Jones (Larry) and Eddie Oldson. Sister, Peggy Miller (Bobby), step-children, Kim Impellizzeri (Rich), Gwen Flinchum (Mark), Jenny Thomas (Tim), Glenn Baker (Carol) and Rhonda Colvin (Scott). 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive. Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his former wife, Lavina Ruth Gibbs Scott and a sister, Bonnie Oldson Smith.
A funeral Mass celebrating Fred’s life will be held 10:00 am Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be 5 to 8 Wednesday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Road. Serving as casketbearers will be James Barnett, William Baker, Brent Baker, Chuck Oldson, Tommy Oldson and Kenny Henson. Honorary casketbearers will be Ed Rush and Bobby Miller.
