Millie Euline Barnhill Texas, 81, of Crestwood, wife of Jim Texas, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany. She was born in Burkesville, Ky. March 5, 1936 the daughter of the late John R. & Ella Mae Abston McIntyre. She had been a floral designer for many years at Kingsley Walker Florist and later had worked at Dilliards where she was chosen Salesperson of the Year.
Euline was in the first graduating class of Oldham County High School and a fifty plus year member of Crestwood Baptist Church but most recently attended DeHaven Baptist Church in LaGrange. She was a member of the Crestwood Civic Club, Crestwood Garden Club was an avid fisherman and an Oldham County Living Legend.
Besides her husband of nearly 20 years she leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Debi Phillips (Larry), Belinda Broyles (Neil) and Shelley Barnhill, step-son, David Allen Texas, sisters, Sue Craigmyle (Sonny) and Barbara Fieder, daughter-in-law, Diana Barnhill, grandchildren, Jessica Bohannon (Eric), Lee Fletcher & Ryan Phillips, Elizabeth Wolz (Joe), Katie Norris (Jason) and Cody Mann (Kayla), great grandchildren, Baylee, Angel-Lyn, Amelia, Jillian and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lance Barnhill, 2 grandchildren, Robert Lance Barnhill Jr. and Christopher Matthew Broyles, sister, Lou Edith Craig Singer and brother, Luther R. “Buddy” McIntyre. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Green Valley staff for their kindness and excellent care given.
A service celebrating Millie’s life will be held 4:00pm Sunday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd., visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm until service time.
