Obituary for Shannon Lee Stromberg

Shannon Lee Stromberg
Shannon Lee Stromberg, beloved daughter of Nicki Nader and Donald Stromberg. Shannon is survived by her mother and stepmother, Holly Kennedy-Stromberg, and her many aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and by her grandparents Donald and Grace Stromberg and Elwood G. Nader, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and her grandmother Margaret Kessinger Beard, of Hart County, Kentucky. A celebration of her life will be held at the Unitarian Church in Louisville on 809 S. Fourth St, Louisville, KY on Saturday, January 14, 2018 from 2 to 4pm, followed by a reception at the church.
A memorial celebration will also be held outdoors this spring in Cleveland. Please contact Nicki Nader for more information.
Shannon was born and lived in Cleveland, Ohio on Sept. 19, 1968, moving to Florida and later Atlanta, Georgia. She spent summers in North Carolina with her dad and stepmom Holly, and at horse camps where she became a camp counselor. Her love of horses and dogs was only surpassed by her affection for her cats. Animals and nature were an important part of Shannon's life, reflected in her passion for zoological gardens, gardening and preserving foods, and celebrating her Wiccan spiritual path. Her bonds with her Wiccan sisters and brothers were deep and strong, as were her bonds with her many friends and her Kroger family, where she worked for many years and whose support during her illness is deeply appreciated.
Shannon was born with a frail body and a huge, fierce spirit and love for life, people, animals and the Earth. Her struggles with pain and illness led her to study healing in its many forms, and she became a practitioner of massage therapy and herbal healing. She loved to share her knowledge and skills, and brought comfort to many who struggled with ill health. Above all, her bond with her mother Nicki was a source of great comfort and strength to both. Shannon loved, and was loved, deeply, and she will be missed.
