Darlene B. Barnes, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her home in Florida.

Darlene was originally from Louisville, and retired to Lakeland, Florida in 2007. She was a co-founder of Barnes Bookkeeping and Tax Service; Darlene and her late husband, Charlie Barnes, worked in tax preparation for 40 + years. Darlene also was the co-pastor of the Kentucky Spiritualist Temple.

Along with her husband, Charlie E. Barnes, she is preceded in death by her son, Stephen E. Barnes.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Beverly J. Barnes; 10 grandchildren, Audrei Le`Anna Barnes, Charles Stephen Barnes, Gabrielle Jerianna Barnes, Stephen Jeremy Barnes, Anthony Charles Barnes, Seth Christopher Barnes, Selena Victoria Barnes, Michelangelo Alexander Barnes, Brian Marcello Barnes, and Haili Olivia Barnes.

A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Cave Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205.
