Obituary for Mary Margaret Yager (Stacy)

Mary Margaret  Yager (Stacy)
Mary Margaret Yager, 93, loving wife to Glen C. Yager, passed away on Thursday April 28, 2016 at Providence Louisville East Post Acute. She was born to the late Samuel Morgan and Margaret Eugenia Knodel Stacy in Louisville on April 2, 1923. She was also preceded in death by her brother Daniel Stacy.
Mary was a teacher in the Jefferson County Public School System, taught piano at home for 60 years, was music director, wedding/funeral director for her church, Community of Christ Louisville Congregation (formerly RLDS), served on the Board of Directors for the Louisville/Jefferson County Youth Orchestra, worked in the Women’s Department at her church, for 50 years was Music Director for Kentucky/Indiana District for her church. From 1959-1974 she served on the PTAs for Ribadeau and Rutherford Elementary schools, along with Gottschalk Junior High and Iroquois High Schools. She founded the first Drug Education Program for Parents in 1970. Music was Mary’s life, she was a second mother to many of her daughters’ friends in the Southend of Louisville and for ten years, during all of the above, she cared for her Mother at home.
Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by their daughters, Kathleen Yager-Rosenbarger (Darrell) and Eileen Yager-Johnson (Kim) along with five grandchildren; Jared, Joshua, and Sarah Mosgrove, Tyler and Tanner Johnson, ten great-grandchildren, four nephews, and numerous loving cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Mary’s church Community of Christ.
