Obituary for Robert Payton Dooley

Dooley, Robert Payton "Bob",72, husband of 49 years to Patricia Cannon Dooley, died Monday January 5, 2015 in Lexington, KY. Born April 17, 1942 in Louisville, he was the son of the late Emmett and Ruby Payne Dooley. Mr. Dooley was a graduate of duPont Manual High School and the University of Louisville where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He was the retired founder and owner of Landmark Sprinkler, Inc. Bob was a member of the National Fire Sprinkler Association and the Kentucky Fire Sprinkler Association. He was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church, where he had served as Treasurer, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher. Mr. Dooley was an avid U of L and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. Survivors other than his wife include three children, Lance (Shelly) Dooley, Columbus, OH, Ginger (Mick) Whelan, Louisville and Nathan (Stacie) Dooley, Nashville, TN. Bob was "Pops" to five grandchildren, Zachary and Isaac Whelan, London and Deakon Dooley and Payton Dooley; a sister, Peggy (Charles) Davis; two nieces, Lisa Davis and Melody McDaniel; and dear friends, Gary and Phyllis Clark. The family extends special thanks to The Willows. Burial will follow the service in Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, KY 40241.
